Info! We would like to inform you that this event ended on Fri, 7 December 2012, 11:00 pm.
We are contacting you on behalf of the Autism Society of Hawaii (ASH) and the committee for “Peter’s Prom” (A Special Needs Prom), to request your support in hosting a Winter Ball for our special-needs high school students on December 7th, 2012.
The Autism Society of Hawaii (ASH), the Children’s Community Council (CCC) and the Committee for “Peter’s Prom” (formerly The Prom Project), is interested in partnering with parents and local schools and businesses to host this year’s Winter Ball. We are pleased to announce that we have the support of the Hyatt Regency as a venue for our event. However, we still need our community’s help in the form of monetary donations or other assistance to make this a successful event.
The first ever special-needs prom held in Hawaii was this past spring and it was a huge success! The Prom Project was able to garner numerous donations from the community such as the venue, decorations, a DJ, photography, flowers and catering, all of which helped ensure a wonderful event for our special-needs children.
This Winter Ball will benefit all students with disabilities, not just those affiliated with the Autism Society of Hawaii. It will help provide some gain the confidence to slowly build to the bigger prom and others who may not have the opportunity to make it bigger one like Peter, experience the only one they will ever know. We are a tax-exempt organization and your donation does qualifies as a tax deduction should your organization choose to support us. A receipt will be mailed out upon receipt of your donation.
Mahalo nui loa for your consideration. All donations may be mailed to: Autism Society of Hawaii c/o Peter’s Prom
1600 Kapiolani Blvd. #620, Honolulu, HI 96814 (Memo: Peter’s Prom on the check)

With much aloha,
You can reach me via Facebook if you are interested in volunteer opportunities to assist the students at the dance. We are seeking help with makeup, hair, and chaperoning the students during the dance. Please inbox me with your name and phone number. I will get back with you promptly.
Chaperoning may include sitting with students at their dining tables, dancing, etc. I will update this with more information regarding specific chaperone responsibilities.
